Every day I wake up no matter what happened the day before with a driving passion to help other women succeed. To feel happy. Healthy. Strong. Grounded. Fully alive in who they are and who they are becoming. Period.
We are not promised another hour another day or another decade. So if we are going to live the lives we want we might as well make it happen now.
This article is for every woman I want to reach not just mountain bikers although they inspire me the most. It is for the women you admire the ones who lift you up simply by being themselves. The women you want to know better not just what they do but how they think. What motivates them. Where their strength comes from. How they move through the world with grace resilience laughter and quiet power.
Those are high value women to me.
I feel stronger every day when I look toward the top of my own mountains like the one I am staring at right now on Taylor Mountain and feel that pull to climb. Faster maybe. But also with more excitement more joy more fun. Especially when that climb is shared.
Because what lifts me up most is lifting others up pushing toward the summit together reaching the very top and then gliding down sailing floating racing flying back down the mountain just so we can do it all over again the next day. That’s the MTB life!
No matter the challenges. No matter the people. No matter the roots rocks or ruts that show up along the trail. No matter our titles or roles from the cook to the CEO none more important than the other we are equal in this shared pursuit of becoming the most beautiful versions of ourselves.
To shine. To laugh. To play.
To love our children our partners our teachers our mentors and the women coming up behind us as fully as we can.
Because when we do we leave a mark on this planet that lasts just long enough to inspire the next girl to rise.
And that is the art of the ascent.
