MTB Girls Magazine today announced the launch of its new Fit & Fearless MTB Ride Club Series, a women-focused mountain bike fitness and confidence program beginning in Northern California, with the first rides rolling out across the North Bay. The series is designed to help women build strength, resilience, and trail confidence through structured, supportive small-group rides and coaching sessions.
Created for beginners, returning riders, postpartum athletes with clearance, and women recovering from injury or surgery, the Fit & Fearless Ride Club blends mountain bike fitness, endurance pacing, and confidence-building trail experience in a non-intimidating group environment. Each session focuses on developing strength, momentum, and real-world trail capability while fostering community and accountability among women riders.
The program is led by Liz Donahue, ride leader and author of The 23 Principles of Mountain Biking, a transformative framework that teaches riders how to move through fear points, build momentum, and enjoy the ride both on and off the bike. The curriculum emphasizes mindset, pacing, endurance, and progressive confidence development alongside physical fitness gains.
Ride locations include prime mountain biking destinations across the North Bay and greater Northern California region, with additional locations planned as the program expands. Organizers are also inviting community input on future ride venues and regional chapters.
The Fit & Fearless MTB Ride Club Series supports MTB Girls Magazine’s broader mission to grow women’s participation in mountain biking by making entry and return to the sport more accessible, structured, and empowering.
Women interested in joining can enroll through drop-in classes or monthly fitness club memberships. Those interested in becoming local ride leaders in their own communities are encouraged to contact Liz at MTB Girls Magazine to get started.
