Designed for intermediate riders looking to build confidence and endurance, this professionally guided group ride will help you prepare for the terrain, climbing, pacing, and technical riding you’ll experience during the Dirt Fondo. Our experienced MTB Girls Ride Club coaches will guide you through one of Mount Tam’s most scenic routes while sharing tips on climbing, descending, nutrition, bike setup, and race-day strategy for MCBC Dirt Fondo Prep Ride.
This is a supportive, no-drop ride where you’ll meet other women who share your passion for mountain biking. Along the way, you’ll build confidence through expert coaching and guided practice. In addition, you’ll gain valuable skills to help you tackle longer rides and more challenging terrain. Most importantly, you’ll leave feeling prepared, motivated, and ready to pursue bigger mountain biking goals.
Post-Ride Celebration
After the ride, we’ll all gather at The Junction Restaurant in Mill Valley beginning at 3:00 p.m. for food, drinks, and great conversation. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate an amazing day on the trails, get to know fellow riders, and continue building the MTB Girls Ride Club community. We hope you’ll join us!

The 14th Annual MCBC Dirt Fondo takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, featuring routes up to 43 miles (with an optional 49-mile bonus loop) through the legendary trails of the Marin Headlands and Mount Tamalpais. The event includes fully supported aid stations, mechanics, course marshals, SAG support, and an incredible post-ride celebration.
Best of all, every Dirt Fondo registration helps support the Marin County Bicycle Coalition’s Off-Road Program, funding trail advocacy, trail maintenance, improved trail access, and the development of new mountain bike trails throughout Marin County.
